Its Friday the 27th of Feb, so that means a few things:
1. Many young americans (the Hurricane included) are”home sick” and probably just went to bed.
2. Gisele Bunchen is officially married. Millions of men in the Boston area are depressed (b/c they no longer have a shot at Tom Brady)
3. New Yorkers are making their plans for the weekend, which may include dinner out.

For those of you in category 1, I can’t offer you any advice, since it seems you know more than me about life anyway. Those in category 2 (i.e. Hurricane), don’t fret. As soon as she gets pregnant he will move on to someone new (your big shot!). And for thos of you in category 3, I have this story I saw on the newswire:

“Masa, one of America’s priciest eateries, is offering a discount of sorts amid the recession. Low fuel prices are behind the price drop. The set menu at Masa Takayama’s three-Michelin-star restaurant at Manhattan’s Time Warner Center fell to $400 from $450 two weeks ago, marking what could be the first time the sushi temple has ever cut its prices. The cost of dinner at the 27-seat venue has risen since its 2004 debut, when a meal was $300.”

WHAT?!?!?   MASA is reducing its prices to ONLY $400!!?? I am incredulous. I will be going there tonight and will insist on paying the full price to impress all the low lifes that they will undoubtably be able to attract with these astronimically low prices…

Side Note – last week I went with some friends to Matsugen, another high end sushi restaurant in NYC for their $35 prix fixe dinner. Including a couple drinks with dinner, the tab for 3 of us was over $300.   Needless to say I now have a running friday night reservation at the Times Square Mickey D’s… (its the nicest one in the world I hear….).

Manny Ramirez turned down the Dodgers latest offer of 2 years/$45 Million.  Manny, what are you doing?  Do you realize that spring training has started and that every free agent is getting MUCH less than they expected?  Do you think Manny even realizes that the US is in the biggest economic downturn since WWII?  Haha… hell no he doesn’t.  As my good friend once told me, when the Sox played in Japan the team just told Manny they were in Seattle so as to not disrupt him too much.

If Manny thinks he is getting that 4 year/$100 Million deal… he is ridiculous.

Thanks to Hurricane, I am spending my afternoon watching the Yankees first televised spring training game (in between grueling work projects obviously). How friggin great is it that baseball is back? I talk/discuss/drunkenly argue about baseball all year round and when it finally starts it is just a fantastic feeling.

Since I am in such a good mood, here are some baseless thoughts on this upcoming baseball (read: Yankees) season:

• Yankees fans are going to fall in love with CC and Tex – assuming they play well.  They seem like great guys and the media will just eat it up
• The only way AROD can make all this steroids talk go away is to keep his story straight and play well.  If he plays poorly, there is going to be a shit storm
• The Devil Rays are not going to finish in the top two of the division
• The Yankees will win the division by 5+ games
• The SAWX will keep bitching about payroll while still having the second highest in the league
• With not signing Manny Ramirez, the NY Mets will remain mediocre and not make the playoffs for the third year in a row

That’s it for now, but stay tuned throughout the season for more biased and baseless opinions.

So I like to think of myself as a forgiving man. I got arrested; I forgave myself. I cheated on my girlfriend; I forgave myself. I touched a man; I forgave myself, and today I forgive Mr. Mel Gibson for being a drunken Jew hater. Who hasn’t gone on a drunken rant and spoken in hyperbole? so to be honest I never really cared. I mean this guy brought us friggin Brave heart, WILLIAM WALLACE, and now he brings of an American classic, a movie to end all movies. Today I dub him Sir Mel Gibson the Colonel, the Chief who brought us KFC..

Please say this is all a rumor!  PLEASE!  Lauren Conrad has told Seventeen Magazine that the upcoming season of The Hills will be her last!  Without LC there is sure to be no show.  And with no show there is no Spencer.  And with no Spencer there is no more creepy flesh colored beard!!!!  Seriously, what are we going to do?  I am sure him and his wife/gf/bff Skeletor will make their way to another show but it just won’t be the same.  Today is a sad day for crappy television.
