Some Loose Thoughts

You know what I hate more than anything is when someone or something ends and you do not have the ability to get to give it the well deserved standing ovation that is heartfelt and very very emotional. You know, the one that Vikings fans will give to Farve after week 15, 16 & 17 only for him to come back the following year.

Anyway but the Standing O non of us will be able to give is to the farewell of the greatest show ever known to man; of course I am speaking to American Idol. As all of you probably know the pill popping sensation Paul Abdul left Idol because while Simon, Jackson & Seacrest were getting bajillions of dollars she was only offered a 5 million dollar contract and told them to piss off. She figured the show would just not be the same with out her constant withdrawals and spitting on Jackson and the producers would come around.

Well you know she was right, the show will not be the same. We all watched in anticipation for her to go into one of her Oxicodine rants that made little sense but that we all knew was from the heart and very nice. My favorite parts would be when she would start shaking uncontrollably because she was trying to figure out a way to tell some one they suck but still be nice and tactful.

So whatever, she is gone and I was still going to watch. I knew they would have special quests such as Posh, Katy Perry and some of the J-Bro’s and I was ok with this. it would not be the same but it would still be entertaining. Now they fucking bring in Ellen De God Dam Genreres to fucking be the 4th Judge for ever. What in the hell where they thinking. She literally sucks so much as a person and a lesbian that I would not even want to see her with another woman naked and doing weird shit with each other. She sucks so much. I am pretty sure her only fans are 38 year old housewives who sit at home during the day and get off to the thoughts of their lesbian experiences when they where in college and experimenting. I just do not know what they were going for, I get they wanted to have someone who is always going to be nice but they really dropped the ball on this one.

So I say goodbye forever to you, my favorite show since 90210 (original), you will forever be in my heart.

So the big news today is that AT&T went to not one but 2 parties in Arkansas (Allen’s home state), each which help about 300 people during the Idol Finale. AT&T provided each guest with a cell phone and taught them how to “power text”, which shows you how to send 10 text’s at once, this apparently is against Idol rules.

OK, lets break this down. Of those 600, how many did not have Cell phones when they walked in? 100? no way, I will go with 10. OK from those 600, how many people did not know you could not send multiple text messages at once? this number is probably higher, lets say 200.

But even if everyone did not have a cell phone and did not know how to text:

600 people x 10 text messages = 6,000

Now lets say each person sent 20 of these

6,000 x 20 = 120,000 votes.

Ok so Allen won by a “landslide” and there was nearly 100 million votes so a landslide has to mean he got 60 million votes at least… So I don’t really think this had any affect (effect?, I never know).

What a good season. I would have liked to have had a Carrie Underwood type in there for looks but I guess Adam Lambert will have to do.

If you questions is, hey Hurricane, I think I recall reading that you saw Kris  winning in a blog a while back, did that happen? The answer is yes, at the Top 7 I made him my favorite. aka 1 month ago. Oh yeah I also picked two of the top 3 on figgin  march 26th.. I am the man

But seriously a great show last night. Obviously most of the people that voted for Gokey voted for Allen instead of Lambert, which is understandable as Lambert is on the complete other side of the spectrum to Gokey while Allen and Gokey are at least playing on the same field (not not that field, how about sing on the same wave, wait…). The Idol song still sucks.. all those mountains and hurricane’s (liked that part) and volcano’s and shit, I was not sure if I was watching Idol or the opening of Planet Earth. I can go higher, I can go farther, I can be better, I can climb mountains… give me a break..

The song with Queen was pretty sick (bellow) but I would have much rather them have played Fat Bottom girl but I guess it is a family show.

Honestly just a great night on TV Last Night; Idol, Watching Papi go 0-3 w/ 2 K’s and this new show Glee (ehh). But anyway this is about Idol, which was simply amazing. I will do a run down of both performances. (video’s linked at each name)

Round 1 – Favorite Song from season:
Adam - Mad world – As you know I really really liked his performance during the season. I thought the second performance was good, but a lot less emotion this time around
Kris – Ain’t no Sunshine – See for him it is the exact opposite. I though the original was no where close to as good as last nights. He put his heart into this performance and it showed. He absolutely crushed it

Round 2 – Song chosen by Simon Fuller (creator)
Adam -A Change is Gonna Come – Completely out of his realm and comfort zone but he did a very very good job on this one. Really showed some emotion, which we had not seen that much this year.
Kris - What’s Going On – I really wish he had taken this song and made it a little more upbeat. The song was just a touch to slow for a finale with 8k in the audience. He was, in opinion leading until this point.. Going into round three they are neck and neck

Round 3 – Idol Winner Song – Written by Kara
Adam - This song is 100% not his type of song. Obviously they made some artistic adjustments to make it work for him, but all and all not a song I would listen to..
Kris - WOWOWOWOW. I really really like this song for him. Right up his Jack Johnson road house. He really sang it well. All the judges said there was one note to high for him but I do not give a dam

Winner – 42 million votes to 38 million – Kris Allen

While Hurricane is passed out face first on the beach somewhere in the carribbean I figured it was my duty to continue ihis American Idol recap.  Except I won’t get… uh… how do I say this… I won’t get “aroused” for Adam Lambert.  That is Hurricane’s job… he loves those girly guys.  Personally, I can’t stand his standard falcetto on every song.  It annoys me.  Is he talented?  Sure.  Does he show up in my dreams?  Of Course.  I wouldn’t be so quick to guarantee him being in the Top 2…

Anyway, ever since the auditions Danny Gokey has been my MAN.  I like his stupid dancing, he sings amazing and his beard… gotta love the beard.  Anyway, regardless of what I said above, Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert with be in the Top 2 and Gokey will win.  Lock it up.

I am not really here to tell everyone how I said Allison was gone and how it would be an all boys final. Well 2 boys and one mis-guided man who dresses up as a women and makes out with trannys (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I am here to say WTF Paula. That was your song, that was your dance, that was your performance. I figure she is doing this because she is in the last year of her contract and I mean everyone likes Kara better so she is probably out.  So why not use America’s biggest music stage to promote her new single/album, but it was sooooo bad.   If Simon could judge her he would have said something to the affect of “It was like trying to spread frozen cream cheese onto a cold bagel, just hard and painful in every way”, to which Michael Scott  would say “that’s what she said”.

My favorite line in the 100% top 100 billboard song is “I’m not here for romance, I’m just here to dance, I’m just here for the music” ummm, ok.. But then again I will probably have this on my IPhone play-list  ”top 2009 hits” with-in a week.

Also – Is there any doubt she is lip syncing? She is being tossed and flipped and crap.. So upset right now. I can not do any more work.

I do not have that much to say.. It will be a top 4 boys show. Kris was very very good, Adam was good, Gokey was good..

I really just do not have that much to say here. Look I love the rat pack, I will listen to any of their music anytime, but we are in the final 5 here on a show that is for children and young adults (wait, what category to I fit into? weird dude in his late 20’s watching a 16 year old girl and looking and judging her every move? that’s cool), and they are really out-dating themselves here. I want JT, J-Bro’s and Rihanna so please please make that happen.

Just found this while pursuing the interweb so I thought I would let all my fellow Idol watchers enjoy. This is a video of Lambert singing “Kiss From A Rose” from New Years Eve, 2008 at the Upright Cabaret. He sang in his falsetto voice and did a good job, so obviously this lets you know he is still singing how he wants to and not being pushed by producers to do something else, which is nice.
