YANKEEEEES WIN!

Absolutely fantastic; the team of the decade. Bookmarked the the decade with World Series wins, four world series appearances in total. POPPIN BOTTLES

World Series 2009

Andy Pettite was absolutely fantastic. All the Yankees needed was 6 decent innings… and he provided.

World Series 2009

A-Rod finally got his ring providing that last piece to make him a viable candidate for G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time)

World Series 2009

Mo said he can, and wants to, do it for another 5 years and who can say that might not be true? He is not human. He throws two pitches and has been for over 10 years and no one can still figure it out. He was over-the-hill in 2004, 2005, 2006, etc but still is the most dominant figure in all of sports. Ever. That’s a lock.

World Series 2009

Whether he deserved it or not, Swisher was a fan favorite this year and certainly added a dimension (along with AJ and Damon) to the clubhouse that allowed the team to relax and just play baseball.

Phuck You Phillies

October 26th, 2009

You haven’t heard much from me about the Yankees because I didn’t want to talk about anything that was so orgasmically special. The World Series starts this Wednesday and the Yankees are playing the Phillies. Here are two videos that came out after the Phillies won the NLCS. Keep in mind that the Phillies won the World Series last year. Come on idiots, act like you’ve been there before:

hahaha… ok. This one is awesome.

Bizzaro World?

October 15th, 2009

I really hope 2009 is not Bizzaro World for MLB AL Playoffs. I mean the Red Sox ALWAYS dominated the Angels and this year three ANGELS made the SAWX look like and NL team. And the Yankees have always gotten smoked by LA, so lets hope the reverse does not happen tomorrow.

Lets Go DODGERS.

Thanks El Nino for the Video

A-Rod

October 7th, 2009

arod

I just couldn’t leave the below post at the top of SLT while the Yankees were starting their playoffs. Everyone should watch out for A-Rod this post season. He is going to squash all the rumors about him being clutch and I can’t wait.

LET’S GO YANKS!

Will the real A-Rod please Stand up

October 7th, 2009

I love this time of year. The weather chills a little so I can now rock my V-Neck shirt with a nice blazer. The brisk air in the morning wakes me up and cool me down. The pumpkin beer and pumpkin muffins make their way back to Heartland Brewery and Starbucks, and of course the real A-Rod starts to play Baseball.

Alex Rodriguez in the Regular Season is like The Black Crows before Kate Hudson, They were a strong rock band, who could put out and album anytime they wanted and sell out any stadium, but then you realize that was a long time ago. Now the Black Crows have broken up, Kate Hudson has ruined another career (matthew mcconaughey) and A-Rod will begin do like he did in ‘05, ‘06 & ‘07 playoffs, which was a batting average of .133, .071 and a stellar .267 (I would put 2008 but of course they did not make the playoffs), with all of 1 RBI in 55 At-Bats during that time.

But hey, at least I can get the pumpkin muffin from Starbuck and read the back of the NY Post where it will say “Where has A-Rod Gone”, or “Not Again”… at least something similar.

Yankees Win. Make Playoffs. Don’t Celebrate.

September 23rd, 2009

mlb_g_jeter_200

Last night the Yankees beat the Angels in the 9th inning and the win couldn’t have been better.  It has nothing to do with the win clinching at least the Wild Card spot for this year’s playoffs, making it 14 out of the past 15 years that the Yankees have made the playoffs.   It is the WAY they beat the Angels.  With HUUUUUUUUGHES striking out Hunter and Vlad to keep the game tied in the 8th, then Brett Gardner getting on base, stealing, moving over on a sac bunt then scoring on a sac fly.  Small ball baseball that will be needed in October.

I’m also glad they acted as business as usual after clinching the playoffs.  It isn’t anything to celebrate.  Winning the division, making the World Series and winning said World Series are what we need to be celebrating.  Hopefully we will be.

Being a Yankee fan sucks

Honestly A-Rod, let go of the cops boob already, you are a sick and twisted man. I guess Kate Hudson’s little guys just are fitting the bill..

Jeter for MVP?

September 1st, 2009

derek_jeter

Interesting post from Pete Abraham of the LoHud Yankees Blog where he questions whether Joe Mauer actually has the MVP locked up. Joe Mauer will win it but Pete makes a good point. If someone mentions a Yankee for MVP it has been Tex… but Jeter should 100% be in the talk. MVP is a meaningless award and I could care less if Jeter wins it or what have you, but it he should be included in the convo:

Mauer:

  • Avg: .368
  • HR: 26
  • RBI: 80
  • OBP: .436
  • SLG: .615

Jeter:

  • Avg: .334
  • HR: 17
  • RBI: 60
  • OBP: .398
  • SLG: .482

As you can see, Mauer has better numbers and should win it but Jeter needs to be included in the conversation.  The fact that Jeter has lead his team (.371 Average since July 1) to the best record in the majors isn’t a bad thing either.  Where are all those idiot Boston fans that say Jeter sucks and is old and shouldn’t be a starter?

FYI, here are Teixeira’s numbers:

Tex:

  • Avg: .283
  • HR: 32
  • RBI: 101
  • OBP: .380
  • SLG: .545

Nothing matters but a World Series win and with Andy Pettite almost pitching a perfect game (screw you Hairston!… not really) last night the Yankees are looking strong heading into September.

Don’t mess with the Yankees

August 13th, 2009

Wives that is. Honestly WFT is going on here? You have to be liked by  ”veteran Yankee wives Michelle Damon and Laura Posada, whose stamp of approval is crucial, a source said. ” Honestly, really, at first Hudson had to sit in a private box and then the women had to invite her to the family section, a place where Minka Kelly still is not allowed? Personally I am on team Minka. Younger, hotter, better, faster, stronger and much more intelligent, and that is all I want to say about that.

August 13, 2009 —

SHE made it past third base with Alex Rodriguez, but Kate Hudson isn’t getting a warm reception at the plate from Minka Kelly, longtime squeeze of Yankee captain Derek Jeter.

At home games in The Bronx, things between the two photogenic actresses are frostier than the new stadium’s $9 beer, according to spies.

“There’s been visible coldness between Minka and Kate,” an insider told The Post’s Lachlan Cartwright. “I don’t know if it’s a personal thing, or just an extension of the ongoing A-Rod-Jeter rivalry.”

Our source added, “People are choosing sides.”

Friday Night Lights” hottie Kelly has been dating Jeter since last year. Since then, she’s usually cheered him on from his private seats, kept a low profile and has rarely been photographed with him.

Then, high-profile Hudson arrived on the scene. She’s been snapped smooching A-Rod in the stands, and recently switched from sitting in a private box to hanging in the family seats, cheering on the team with Yankee wives including Amber Sabathia and Karen Burnett.

Hudson, who also enthusiastically attended the Bombers’ family picnic, seems to have gotten an early thumbs-up from veteran Yankee wives Michelle Damon and Laura Posada, whose stamp of approval is crucial, a source said.

Reps for Hudson and Kelly didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Kevin Spence, who ranks player wives and girlfriends on WAGrankings.com, noted: “It would be the best reality show ever if they would allow a camera to follow them around. I think tensions and jealousy will grow in time.”
