I guess the Saints were doing this chant all year. I only heard about it when they beat the Vikings in the NFC Championship. Or should I say the vikings gave them the game then Brett Favre literally threw the game away because he is an egotistical asshole who wouldn’t slide because he wanted to make one more big play so it was all about him and then when it didn’t work he had someone put pictures of his leg and ankle on the internet to show how tough he is… oh god. I think I just had a stroke. ANYWAYS the clip is lame until the end when he starts screaming and going nuts to “win agAIn” over and over. Pretty cool shit.
Bottom line… screw you Brett Favre. No, I am not grateful for where “you” took the Vikings this season. Super Bowl or bust asshole!
The Vikings are 4 – 0 and a top three team in the NFC (Saints & Giants). Adrian Peterson is a freak of nature and gives me a semi when he runs the ball. The defense is sick with few holes that seem apparent after four games. Brett Favre, while it hurts to say, has played really well. I am still skeptical about his long term effectiveness he is picking apart defenses, who have to account for All Day, like it was college. I’m still waiting for the hammer to drop after six or so games, as happened the past few years with him, but right now I… ugh… am happy he is on my team.
FAVRE DID IT! Greg Lewis who dove, jumped and grabbed the football with his finger tips had nothing to do with it. Favre is just so good that he MADE Lewis make that catch.
So it was a tough start for the Hurricane in the 2009 Football season. GT totally had this game in hand but it was one of those classic cases of the team is up to much in the 1st half and totally folds in the second, which allows Clemson to come back, but anyway, here are some of my picks for this weekend
Current 2009 Record – 0-1
Jets @ Houston (-4.5)
Do I even need to really go into this, the Texans and Mario Williams are going to DEMOLISH Sanchez and his 1st start
Miami (+4.5) @ Atlanta
I Love Matty Ice but I still think Miami and their defense will bring just enough to keep this game with in a field goal
Philly (+1.5) @ Carolina
This is a joke, Philly is one of the top teams in the NFC, they have great CB’s who will give the Carolina Offense hell all day, they win outright
Chicago @ GB (-3.5)
This is a very interesting match-up but I just am not sold on Cutler at all. Who exactly is he throwing the ball to?
Minn (-3.5) @ Cleveland
Look I hate Brett Farve as much as everyone, but when will he be at his best? The first 8 weeks. When will AP be at his best? The first 17 weeks, so basically this is my LOCK OF THE WEEK
Blah blah blah… I hate Brett Favre… blah blah blah… it’s hard to root for me favorite team anymore. You’ve heard me bitch enough already.I have HATED Brett Favre since he first came to the NFL. Him and his stupid Wranglers and beard but to see the media turn on him as well is gratifying and also a little annoying.
While I would NEVER root for someone to get hurt… here’s to hoping Favre isn’t starting after Week 2. The Vikings are too good to be ruined by this douche.
So, today was going along as a standard shitty work day when I go to ESPN.com and see the following report:
A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
Vikings coach Brad Childress confirmed in an e-mail to The Associated Press Tuesday morning that Favre was traveling from Mississippi to meet with the team.
Asked if the plan was to sign Favre on Tuesday, Childress replied: “In a perfect world.”
I won’t make an official decision until Favre actually signs but I am pretty certain it will be either the Saints or the Bengals. After watching a few episodes of this season’s Hard Knocks I have a soft spot for the Bengals.
So now that Brett “I am a complete douchebag” Favre has stepped away from football, for now, the question remains with my beloved Vikings as to who the starting QB will be. Will it be Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels!?!?!?! Or will John David Booty come out as the dark horse winner!?!?!?! Oh the excitement!!! (!!!!… more just for good measure.)
With possibly the most dominant RB in the game in the back field, the Vikings can not waste this opportunity. That is why I am declaring today as the official “Vikings Sign Vick” day.
Imagine how awesome that would be? Vick and AP in the back field? It doesn’t matter what sorry excuse for WR’s the Vikings have (Sidney, I am looking at you) they will HAVE to be able to get open when everyone is focusing on the running game (OPTION!?).
So, please Zygi (how does he nots pell this Ziggy?) who cares about the few weeks of bad press, it will pay off in the long run. SIGN VICK
The latest report on Brett Favre is that if his X-Rays show no serious surgery needed then the Vikings are going to sign him. As a Minnesota Vikings fan, I think this is absolutely horrendous. Not because I think the Vikings are good enough to win with Sage Rosenfels, Tavaris Jackson and John David Booty, because they aren’t, but that the Vikings would sign one of the most hated players from one of the most hated teams. Imagine a bunch of “practically Canadians” filling the Metrodome with purple and gold #4 jerseys… the thought is sickening. Because of this, I have decided that if they do indeed sign Brett “My Sheets Are Made By Wrangles” Favre I will have to choose a new team.
This is a life changing decision… I have been rooting for the Purple People Eaters since I can remember. I am not going to take this new team undertaking lightly. Here are the restrictions for my new team
Can’t play in the NFC North
Can’t have been played in the Super Bowl in the 21st Century
Can’t be a “red” team
That’s it. All teams are in play assuming they meet the above restrictions.
Here are my top top choices right now, in no particular order:
Houston Texans
Cincinnati Bengals
New Orleans Saints
I pretty happy with any of the above teams, but if anyone has an argument for or against any particular team please let me know.
The Jets officially released Brett Favre last night and now there is speculation that the Vikings will sign him. Please no. Please, for the love of god, no. I seriously don’t know how I will be able to root for my favorite football team if Brett Favre is the one taking snaps.
