Here is what Kobe was thinking during every single question that was asked last night:
“Bite me Shaq”
It was funny to see Kobe celebrate with his teammates… you can just tell that they don’t like him personally. But, he won them all a championship so they should at least be grateful.
Kobe’s NBA Finals Line:
Points – 32.4
Assists – 7.4
Rebounds – 5.6
Steals – 1.4
Blocks – 1.4
Girls Raped – 0
All-in-all just a fantastic performance by the games best player (not LBJ).
Lakers won last night. That’s all you really need to know/care about. In honor of the Lakers going up 2 – 0 in the NBA finals, I will post a commercial that I have watched about 50 times… and still get the chills every single time.
Nothing really to say about last night’s Laker DOMINANCE other than if they play that this they will sweep. Unfortunately they have not played consistent this entire playoffs so they could just as easily get beat in Game 2. Anything is possible which is friggin scary.
Kobe’s legacy is all about this series, if he loses he can’t win without Shaq and can’t win when he is the best player on his team. He wins he is one of the best all time. I think he knows that:
Points – 40
Boards – 8
Assists – 8
Steals – 2
Blocks – 2
Just SICK.
How can Howard only only attempt 6 field goals in this game? HORRIBLE job done by Ron Jeremy.
When Obama was asked who he thought would win the NBA Championship, his reply was:
“Lakers in six, I think.”
Regardless of what you think of his handling of the financial crisis, his foreign policy or choice of cabinet members you have to respect his choice in the Lakers. KOBE KOB!
SLTHQ is about to close-up shop and the Hurricane and I are about to go out and get weird… So, in honor of the Lakers game tonight, here is a video that if you don’t get chills you may be dead. the MVP chant at the end (yes I know it was for the 2008 season) was fantastic.
Not sure if you have heard but the 4th game of the Lakers/Nuggets playoff series is scheduled for next Monday in Denver… and the WWE has the place booked. In about two days the 24 hour news cycle is going to make this story overbearing and annoying, but right now I think it is fantastic. Whenever Vince McMahon gets an opportunity to get free publicity he takes it. He is absolutely bonkers…
In honor of the Lakers stepping up like a true championship caliber team and putting the hurt on the Rockets in Game 7 here is the latest installment of the Where Will Amazing Happen? parodies. Did anyone see what happened in the Celtics game? (burn)
The Houston Rockets, without Yao and Tracy, forced the Lakers to a game 7? Really? How can the Lakers blow out the Rockets by 40 in Game 5 then get outscored 27 – 15 in the 1st quarter? If Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks light you up for a combined 50 points you need to reevaluate things a bit.
This guy? Really?
On a positive note, there are two game 7’s on Sunday… Sunday Funday indeed.
There is a report out (no source sorry) that says Derek Fisher is going to be suspended for Game 3 because he laid a pick (read: laid out) on Luis Scola. What kind of bullshit is this? Granted, it was a HARD pick and fine, he got ejected. But a whole other full game suspension? Why does everyone say that NHL playoffs are the best of the majors? Because the intensity is multiplied 10 fold. That is what happens in the NBA too… you WANT people to play harder. You can’t call meaningless fouls in the last minute and you can’t suspend players for playing hard.
For the record, while I am happy that Artest got ejected because that left Battier to defend Kobe alone he didn’t deserve it. Hopefully Artest, Kobe and Fisher aren’t suspended… hopefully the teams don’t play less hard for the rest of the series.
To quote Simmons… I am getting sick of the No Balls League.
