Good By Tedy

August 31st, 2009

Linebacker Tedy Bruschi, who spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Patriots and was praised by Bill Belichick as “the epitome of what a football player should be” and a “perfect player”, announced his retirement from football today during a press conference at Gillette Stadium.

Tedy was always the consummate pro, he was the first one there, the last one to leave. he came in as a 3rd round outside linebacker with Bill Parcels, he would then spend the next 12 seasons on the patriots,  he would survive a stroke and he would help the Patriots to win 3 championships. You will not here a bad thing said about this man on or off the field, so I salute you Tedy, you will be missed.

Dropping like fly’s

August 31st, 2009

So I wake up this morning to “coffee with the QB” on WEEI, which is a weekly interview with the Golden boy Tom Brady in which Butchy Strurns asks Tom if he has had an MRI yet.. Wait, what? MRI? on what his knee? So at this point I was of course drinking coffee which I now have all over my shirt, so to sum things up:

  • Brady may be dead
  • I have coffee all over me
  • Brady is OK, shoulder is fine
  • I was in NJ this weekend
  • Cassell is dead

Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel has a strained medial collateral ligament in his left knee and could miss the Chiefs’ season opener and beyond, Yahoo Sports! reported on Monday.l

Citing a source within the organization, Yahoo Sports! reported Cassel could miss two to four weeks. He was hurt Saturday night when sacked on the third play of a 14-10 preseason loss to Seattle.

The Chiefs open the regular season Sept. 13 at Baltimore. They return to practice Monday and are expected to have injury updates on Cassel and others, including wide receiver Devard Darling (leg).

Tyler Thigpenis Cassel’s primary backup.

Cassel was acquired by Kansas City in an offseason trade with New England and signed a $63 million, six-year contract with the Chiefs. The contract contains $28 million in guaranteed money.

Cassel replaced injured Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the first week of the 2008 season and threw for 3,693 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

HEEEEE’S BACK

August 13th, 2009

oh boy oh boy, god himself is about to take the field again, and he is doing so with a chip on his shoulder. The last time Tom Brady threw a football was 11 months ago and he is ready to take the league by storm once again. I am not saying he throws for 49 TD’s again this year, more like 42, but you just never know how good he will be. All signs in the 21 practices they have had this year show he is fully recovered.

From Deails magazine:

When I ask him if he still feels the need to prove himself, he says, “Yeah, certainly, certainly,” then follows it with this: “Because nobody cares—I mean, at least I don’t—about what happened two years ago in my career. It’s great that we won the Super Bowls—hey, I’ll show you the rings. But get over it. Move on. Move on.” So I paraphrase: Live life in the present tense, right? “Hell yeah,” Tom Brady says, not softly at all.

1 City + 4 Teams = 1 TRUE NATION

June 24th, 2009

if you have any tips, links, videos or anything that we may find amusing email us at someloosethoughts@gmail.com

See everyone always talks about the “Red Sox nation”, but to be honest with you we are one city, we are 1 New England. This is the difference between NY teams and Boston teams. i do not see A-Roid, Jeter, Mark Sanchez & Steve Avery getting stage at a concert together. But what you do see is Kenny Chesney bringing Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Mike Timlin, Tim Wakefield and Jacoby Ellsbury on stage at a recent Gillete Stadium concert, and the place went bananas. hell I do not even see A-Fraud inviting any of his team mates out to clubs with him. He saves that for beat up 5 years past their prime celebritie girls.

Free Form Friday

May 29th, 2009

So I am starting a new thing today, which I have not told my partner (in life and blogsphere).  This, unlike other days will be about anything and everything. We will leave no path untouched, no story untold, no stone unturned.

So today, we will begin with the hottest man with a clef chin this side of the Milky Way Galaxy. That of course is the man, the myth, the legend Mr. Tom Brady. His first open practice was yesterday and he of course was FAAAANNNNNNNNtastic. Then this morning he was on the morning talk show “Dennis & Callahan” on WEEI Boston Sports Radio, and luckily for all of you I found the audio and give you the opportunity to listen to.

“I realized how much I love the game, How much I missed the game”.. “I am willing to do whatever coach asks to become a better player, better teammate”

God he is so hot

The chosen one’s son

May 27th, 2009

I have no idea where this is from, someone just e-mailed it to me (thanks Disco Sr.). Anyway is it just me or does every son’s coach seam to get in trouble? All of Andy Reids kids and now both of Billy B’s kids. Those stupid three day lacrosse championships will get the best of us. But should the kid get a pass if he is in the god dam parking lot of where his father works.. Now I would not say this if it was Gillette power plant in South Boston and we are talking about the plant managers son. We are talking about the head coach of the NE Patriots son getting busted on premisis for beer. We are not talking abouut weed, we are not talking about cocaine, we are talking about a beer.. Give me a break.

One of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s sons was arrested Monday after he was found in possession of an alcoholic beverage in the parking lot at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, police said.

Brian Belichick, 17, was arrested with one other individual at around 3:45 p.m. and charged with underage possession of alcohol after police found him with a can of beer in his hand, Foxborough Police said.

“We made a concerted effort to eliminate any underage drinking during the event,” said Foxborough Police Sergeant Allan Haskell of the Foxborough police. “It was zero tolerance.”

Haskell said police were on a patrol through the parking lot, where many adults were holding tailgate parties, looking for underage drinkers.

Belichick “was a perfect gentleman,” and didn’t resist officers, said Haskell.

Belichick’s arrest came on the final day of the NCAA Lacrosse Championships. During the three-day event, Foxborough Police arrested 52 people for various alcohol violations. Belichick was arrested during the Division I championship game between Syracuse and Cornell.

Gillette Stadium is the home of the Patriots, who have been led by Bill Belichick to three Super Bowl championships.

Haskell said Brian Belichick was released on his own recognizance the same day, but had to pay a $40 fee. He appeared in Wrentham District Court Tuesday and his case was continued without a finding for six months, meaning if he stays out of trouble, the case will dropped. Belichick will also have to pay court costs, which is standard, Haskell said.

“He got the same disposition of justice as anyone else,” Haskell said. “He received no special treatment.”

In October 2006, Bill Belichick’s other son, Stephen Belichick, was arrested in Weston on charges of marijuana possession after police on routine patrol found him and another individual in a car in a church parking lot. He was placed on six months probation. He was 19 at the time.

Update on God – HE’S BAAAACCCCKKK

May 26th, 2009

….

……………

…………………….

Oh sorry just got back from waterboarding myself and doing the hangman at SLTHQ while thinking about Brady…

But do you think Parcel’s just called Mike Tannenbaum (Jets GM) & Russ Brandon (Bills Gm) to get a three way waterboarding session going after hearing this news..  What does everyone think? Welker and moss have been there for 2 years now, know the system and know the players. I can only assume they want it more now.. Also just in case you did not hear, Brady called this the “halftime of his career” and wants to play until 41…so 10 more years.

From Si.com

Hey, my knee feels great. They just worked through the routes, and Brady wondered, When we run this play against Buffalo, how will the defense respond?

“Come on!” Moss said before Brady called the last of the 25 or so plays they ran. “Make this a hard one!”

Moss likes to be challenged, and he’s one of the best in the game at reading his quarterback’s subtle signals. Moss showed that in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLII when, after seeing a simple nod from Brady, he adjusted his route, cut inside the cornerback and caught a six-yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots up 14-10 over the Giants. This time Brady called one of the new plays with a hand signal; to further test Moss, he quick-snapped and backpedaled, seeing if his receivers would figure out what to do.

Moss guessed wrong, walking off the line of scrimmage confused. “What are you doing?” Brady yelled.

“I don’t know,” Moss said. “What [play] is it?”

Brady called out the name, then said, triumphantly, “I’m going home! I got Moss today! I got you!”

Even Moss had to laugh.

Brady said he learned much about himself during his forced layoff. “When I was playing every week, I bitched about the little things,” he said. “Like, God, we’ve got to go outside today? It’s raining! Or, why is Bill dunking the ball in soap? Or, why do we have a meeting at 7:30 to talk about everything we’ve already talked about. Geez!

“Then, when you’re not playing, you realize you would [gladly] do any of that — whatever they wanted me to do. I saw the guys in the locker room, mid-November; I was doing rehab, and they were at the point of the season when things had slowed down, and they were bitching. I said, ‘Come on, guys! It’s football!’ Mentally, they needed a break, but I said, ‘Quit complaining!’ “

Brady drew an analogy based on his parenting experience with 21-month-old Jack. “I don’t see him every day” — Brady shares custody with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan — “and we play when I change his diaper: lifting his leg up, playing with his toes, biting his feet. There’s this different appreciation. If you had him every day, you’d go, Let’s just get this done. But when you get him, say, one week a month, you’re like, This is so cool!
