He Got Game – The real fake Jesus is coming to the Green
Wait, so the real Jesus Shuttlesworth is joining the player who played Jesus Shuttlesworth? I feel like I am watching the real, real life J.Peterman tour.
Kramer: I’m only charging $37.50, plus you get a pizza bagel and desert.
George: What’s desert?
Kramer: Bite-size Three Musketeers. Just like the real Peterman eats.
George: He eats those?
Kramer: No. I eat those. I’m the real Peterman.
George: I think I understand this. Jay Peterman is real. His biography is not. Now, you Kramer are real.
Kramer: Talk to me.
George: But your life is Peterman’s. Now the bus tour, which is real, takes to places that, while they are real, they are not real in sense that they did not *really* happen to the *real* Peterman which is you.
Kramer: Understand?
Jerry: Yeah. $37.50 for a Three Musketeers
From ESPN:
As we embrace the notion of Stephon Marbury in Celtic Green, some reference points for your Marbury conversations:
- Ray Allen and Stephon Marbury were traded for each other on draft day 1996. Marbury was drafted fourth, by Milwaukee. Allen was drafted fifth, by Minnesota. The Timberwolves gave the Bucks a future first-round pick (it became Danny Fortson) to switch.
- Ray Allen played Jesus Shuttlesworth — a point guard from Coney Island’s Lincoln High, apparently modeled on Marbury — in the Spike Lee movie “He Got Game.”
Personally I think the pick up is great. I think Marbury is playing for another ocntact and the Celtics have enough verteran locker room presence to keep him in check. He is a much much better upgrade from Gabe Pruitt and now Eddie House can come off the bench and be the 2 guard. The team is significantly better with the fake real Jesus, althought obviously the actual actor playing Jesus is better than the guy who he was portraying.
It might feel good, it might sound a little somthin’, but damn the game if it don’t mean nothin’!!
